Experience Grand Canyon's Bike Shuttle
Bright Angel Bicycles operates a shuttle from the Canyon Visitor Information Plaza ( CVIP) to the best bit of riding in the park. We offer a direct shuttle to the historic Hermits Rest road. The shuttle is the best way to navigate through the congested village area and up the steep hill leading to the West rim ride.
We take you the first drop off located at the scenic Hopi point. From here we offer the long ride option of 5.6 miles(9k) of incredible canyon views and less crowded look out points all the way to Hermits Rest historic building. This is a ride that you will not soon forget with some of the best views of the river. You will ride for 2.6 miles (4.1K) along the Hermits road until you see the Monument Creek Vista pull out and NPS shuttle stop. From here you can enjoy 3 miles(4.8K) of traffic free riding.
The next stop along the historic road is located just East of Monument Creek vista. From this shuttle stop we offer the short ride option. The stop is .25 of a mile before the NPS"greenway path". This path is approved for both foot traffic and bicycles so be aware of all pedestrians, but don't forget to stop at the pull outs to enjoy awesome canyon views. The short ride option is 3 miles(4.8K) and the best choice for families desiring to use the pull behind trailers.
As you approach your destination and the end of the road at Hermits Rest, we encourage you to take time explore the humble looking structure and enjoy the view. There are bike racks available to store your bike. We run the shuttle once an hour and the shuttle is on a first come basis. As you came in to the parking area you will have noticed signs directing you to the pick up area located on the south side of the parking lot. Please use caution and cross the parking area to the pick up point. From here the shuttle driver will load your bicycle and you can enjoy the hassle free ride back to the CVIP.
